A former customer service officer with SingTel Mobile was brought before a district court yesterday for allegedly tapping into her company's database to obtain confidential information for a friend.Doreen Chua Pek Chuan, 28, was accused of leaking the particulars of SingTel Mobile customers to a private investigator on five occasions between Feb 2 and March 28 last year.It is believed she keyed mobile phone numbers into the SinTel database to find out about the particulars of certain subscribers, then passed them to her friend.She was released on $10,000 bail and is scheduled to return to court on Dec 8.If convicted, she could be jailed up to 20 years and fined the maximum of $100,000.
