Keynote Address: GIS: Which is the bigger culprit - Ignorance or Incompetence?
Synopsis:
One common flaw in most organizations today is the challenge in countering the gaps in the information security (GIS). Both ignorance and incompetence are major contributing factors of “GIS”, often exists primarily due to the mismatch between IT security expenditure and IT security posture of the organization. The session briefs the target audience on the state of the information security industry by taking into consideration the inputs from the past, looking at the present and forecasting the future. It highlights how some of the most common defensive tactics deployed by many organizations, often deemed as adequate, can be easily breached. This presentation intends to ring alarm bells about the high level of ignorance and incompetence of many organizations when it comes to information security.
Panel Discussion:
Defending the Frontier with The Gates, The Guards, and The Guns (The 3G of Defense)
Synopsis:
This session aims to discuss the 3 main defensive components for any network. There can never be a secure network, but there are measures that can be adopted and strategies that may be deployed, that can minimize threats and breaches. Panelist will give a good insight to each component, and explain the co-relation between each other.

F5: Balancing Act on Application Delivery
Synopsis:
Application delivery delays, inefficiencies, and failures can cost millions of dollars in terms of wasted budgets, damage to company reputation, system and application downtime, legal liability, and lost opportunities.
Application delivery networking provides the most intelligent and adaptable solution to secure, optimize, and deliver applications, enabling organizations to effectively and competitively run their business. Greater business agility and successful outcomes for the lifeblood of today's organization -- the application itself.
- Secure - It's not just about stopping attacks -- it's also about simultaneously serving legitimate users.
- Fast -Improve their application performance, increase the capacity of their existing infrastructure, lower infrastructure costs, and accelerate their applications.
- Available - Rich static and dynamic load balancing methods, including Dynamic Ratio, Least Connections, and Observed Load Balancing, which tracks dynamic performance levels of servers in a group. This ensures that all sites are always on, more scalable, and easier to manage than ever before.

Palo Alto Networks: The Role of Next-Gen Firewall in Application Delivery
Synopsis:
The Internet now accounts for the majority of traffic traversing enterprise networks. And it's not just web surfing. The Internet has spawned a new generation of applications being accessed by network users for both personal and business use. Many of these applications help improve user and business productivity, while other applications consume large amounts of bandwidth, pose needless security risks, and increase business liabilities.
Traditional firewalls are unable to identify or effectively control any of these Internet applications. That's because legacy firewalls classify traffic based only on ports and protocols and no longer an effective security solution to manage the risks and rewards of today's Internet applications in the enterprise.
Find out how Palo Alto Networks offers real innovation in the firewall, enables unprecedented visibility and control of applications and content - by user, not just IP address - at up to 10Gbps with no performance degradation.
